Details : Students listening the lecture on World Environment Day (WED) at RITS. Radharaman Group of Institutes (RGI) organized the World Environment Day (WED) program on 5th June 2023 at Radharaman Institute of Technology and Science (RITS). It was addressed by Hon Shree RR Saxena (Chairman, RGI) wherein he indicated the special significance and stressed upon the solutions to plastic pollution under the UN campaign #beat plastic pollution. This need is of paramount importance and challenges to be addressed for the survival of planet Earth. It is a reminder that peoples’ actions on plastic pollution matter. The steps government, business and civil societies are taking to tackle plastic pollution are to be carried out with the objectives of deep determination which will act as a game changer. The other related issues cropping up due to the disturbing quantum of pollutants affecting the mother earth, especially the soil, water bodies and air space need appropriate and corrective solutions. The deliberations were also touched upon by Dr PK Lahiri (Senior Director, RGI), Dr RK Pandey (Director, RITS) and Dr Rajiv Varshney (Asso Prof, Radharaman Engineering College), Prof Varun Pratap Singh, Prof Nakeeb Ahmad and Prof Ritu Malviya covering the important segments in combating the thematic issues of plastic waste in reusing, recycling, reorientation and diversifying. A large number of faculty, students and staff attended the discussion and enthusiastically participated in the discussion. During the event, many plants were planted under the guidance Chairman RGI Shri RR Saxena in the RGI campus as a society centric drive to create more awareness for protecting the environment. Further, the students also actively got connected with the online program theme – Solutions of plastic pollution initiated by the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) Bhopal chapter through Mr. Rajesh Bisariya (Chairman) and Dr. Mukesh Mishra (Hon Secretary, IEI, Bhopal Chapter). The keynote speaker was Dr Pushpendra Singh Bundela (Regional Officer, MPPCB, Bhopal). #WorldEnvironmentDay2023.
